Enterprise is sent to learn what happened to an early Human colony called Terra Nova.

Features:

Air Date: 10/24/01
Director: LeVar Burton

Jack's Notes
Never a huge fan of episodes where humanoids talk in similes. If the character means "lies" then say that instead of "shale". Still - overall - a fun episode.

Episode:110
Fortunate Son

The cargo ship Fortunate is damaged by Nausicaan pirates and Enterprise offers a helping hand| only to find the acting-captain has secret plans.

Features:
Stardate:
Air Date: 11/21/01

Jack's Notes
This is the first stinker in the whole season. It's not terrible, but the acting-captain is not well played and the Nausicaan pirates are way less rough than they should be.

Jack's Notes
I am going to have a hard time reviewing this one. Trip's actions were totally out of line. Fortunately the character grows from the experience. He has a big heart and wearing it on his sleeve winds up getting him chewed out in one of the most powerful scenes in all of Trek. I do not, however, believe that a senior officer of Trip's status would do what he did. This is a polarizing episode that shows off why we need Star Trek on television. A show that helps us question our own thinking and displays a moral center we should all adopt is TV worth watching.

Upon the death of a close friend| Captain Archer tells Sub-Commander T'Pol about his early career as an experimental warp engine pilot.

Features:

Jack's Notes
A sadly heart warming tale with a very emotional ending. I would love to have seen Keith Carradine on the show prior to this episode about his death.

While pursuing the Xindi| three crew members are exposed to an alien virus and begin to mutate into Loque'eque| a long-dead alien race.

Jack's Notes
While very well acted, this story is sub-par. I classify this one with Voyager's much maligned "Threshold". I was going to give is a 2....but the ending moral dilemma garners the extra half point.

Jack's Notes
I thought I was going to hate this one. I thought for sure that they were going to...well, I won't spoil it for you. This one turned out to be one of the most heartfelt episodes so far. Connor Trinneer knocks it out of the park.

Episode:320

Jack's Notes
Here we see repercussions of "Impulse" start to come into play. A terrific advance in the storyline.

This feels like a very classic Trek story. Love seeing Peter Weller in this role. He has really honed his acting skills over the years.
