Captain Archer and Lieutenant Reed visit a mining facility in order to track down a Xindi.

Features:
Stardate:
Air Date: 09/10/03
Director: Allan Kroeker

Jack's Notes
This one was pretty cool. Archer's intensity increased dramatically since the attack on Earth and watching Bakula evolve the character is fascinating. The mining boss is perfectly played - disgusting and creepy.

Episode:302

The crew of Enterprise encounters the rigours of the Delphic Expanse first-hand| and deal with pirates operating from a giant cloaked alien sphere.

Features:
Stardate:

Jack's Notes
Another terrific one. The spheres make up something very cool within this story arc.

While pursuing the Xindi| three crew members are exposed to an alien virus and begin to mutate into Loque'eque| a long-dead alien race.

Features:
Stardate:
Air Date: 09/24/03
Director: LeVar Burton

Jack's Notes
While very well acted, this story is sub-par. I classify this one with Voyager's much maligned "Threshold". I was going to give is a 2....but the ending moral dilemma garners the extra half point.

Episode:304

Jack's Rating:
pip pip pip pip

A slave girl Archer rescues from an alien bazaar seeks refuge aboard Enterprise but betrays the crew instead.

Features:
Stardate:
Air Date: 10/01/03
Director: Mike Vejar

Jack's Notes
This one is good overall - but I find it hard to believe that Archer would have trusted the girl at all considering the scope of his mission.

Episode:305
Impulse

Enterprise encounters a Vulcan ship whose crew has become unstable due to Trellium-D exposure. Sub-Commander T'Pol soon begins to exhibit the same symptoms.

A Beauty and the Beast-like tale involving Ensign Sato encountering a potentially helpful telepathic on a deserted world.

Features:
Stardate:
Air Date: 10/15/03
Director: Roxann Dawson

Jack's Notes
Easily my least favorite episode of the show. It seems like the writers couldn't figure out a way to get Archer the info he needed on the Xindi, so they came up with a cheat to advance the show. Still well acted and directed.

Episode:307
The Shipment

Features: Time Travel
Stardate:
Air Date: 11/05/03
Director: Robert Duncan McNeill

Jack's Notes
A damned fine story with a brain-wrecking timeline twist. Still, I have said before, Trek does time travel better than any show in history...and this one is a lot of fun.

Episode:309
North Star

Investigating a planet found to be inhabited by humans| the crew find a town resembling the American Old West.

Features:
Stardate:
Air Date: 11/12/03
Director: David Straiton

Jack's Notes
I love it when Star Trek mixes in with other genres. This one, an old west story, has some great back story and a plausible reason for the stagnation of the western culture. Excellent.

Commander Tucker becomes comatose after an accident| and a rapid-growing clone is created for the purpose of harvesting brain tissue.

Director: LeVar Burton

Jack's Notes
I thought I was going to hate this one. I thought for sure that they were going to...well, I won't spoil it for you. This one turned out to be one of the most heartfelt episodes so far. Connor Trinneer knocks it out of the park.

Jack's Notes
Okay - a time travel episode that stars Leland Orser and Jeffrey Dean Morgan? I am totally on board. Creepy. Fun. Hilarious at times. The drive-thru scene is worth the price of admission.

Features:
Stardate:
Air Date: 01/14/04

Jack's Notes
This one is well acted with a terrific story. So why only three and a half? I hate it when someone takes over a starfleet vessel. It makes me gnash my teeth. And while the outcome is good, until then, I was seething at the blindly religious fools....
